USICEF aims to accelerate progress towards India’s renewable energy and energy access goals, by supporting early stage development of distributed solar power projects and helping to catalyze long-term financing. USICEF invites distributed solar power project developers who operate in the following categories in India to apply for support:
Mini-Grid & Micro-Grid Power Generation
Mini-grid or micro-grid solar power projects with or without grid interactivity to a national utility
Projects involving sales and distribution of small-scale clean energy systems and products that provide access, or extend the hours of access, to electricity, including rooftop and small ground-mounted solar projects of less than 5 MW capacity individually, or 20 MW aggregated
Renewable Energy Infrastructure Catalyzers
Projects that introduce or expand essential infrastructure or provide additional resources to a specific market ( e.g. financing, leasing facilities or companies engaged in portfolio development of self-generation solutions for customers)
Projects must be focused on solar power generation and distribution for external commercial consumption.
Projects must utilize technologies that have already been proven in commercial operations and/or tested at a Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) accredited lab.
The Project Developer should not be blacklisted by any government or public sector agency in India.
